Brentford manager Thomas Frank has opened the door for Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen to return to the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Denmark international spent a short spell at Brentford before joining the Red Devils on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

Tipsbladet and other Danish outlets spoke to the Brentford coach and he was asked about the Manchester United player.

Eriksen hasn’t featured since Manchester United’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last month. There’s also been speculation linking him to Galatasaray, who are now ready to wait for him until the summer.

Eriksen played 11 matches under his compatriot’s orders for the London club. The 31-year-old has less than 18 months left on his deal and Frank is ready to welcome him back at Brentford.

“He will always be welcome back! Christian always will be. I think he knows that. And we know that he had a good time here,” he said.

On the midfielder’s decision to join Erik ten Hag’s side, Frank explained: “I understood well why he went to United then, and I have also said that publicly. I also think he’s done well. Obviously, he had an injury before Christmas for a while. But if Christian wants to, he’s very welcome.”

A knee injury forced Eriksen to spend a month on the sidelines and he returned to the pitch towards the end of December. He’s scored a goal and registered two assists from 19 games for Manchester United this season.
