On December 17th, we covered claims made by Calciomerctao that Juventus and Arsenal are chasing Slavia Prague’s Abdallah Sima, dubbed the ‘new Thierry Henry’.
The 19-year-old has been in fine form for the Czech side this season and has netted 13 times and registered one assist in 18 matches in all competitions.
With the recent reports linking the attacker to the Gunners and the Serie A winners, Nova Sport interviewed Sima’s agent, Daniel Chrysostome.
Responding to Arsenal and Juve rumours, the representative said, “We know about the interests of the four big clubs and are in constant contact with them. It’s the first time in my career that I’ve been dealing with clubs like that. It came with Sima. There’s been a lot going on in the last three months.”
The prolific forward arrived at Slavia Prague from FC MAS Táborsko in the summer, and has wasted no time to shine for his new club.
“It was very difficult at the beginning. For me as an agent, and for Sima as a player. But I’ve been in this business for over ten years and I dare say we’re all friends,” he explained.
“He has some great qualities. He’s incredibly strong, especially mentally. He’s very quiet in his personal life and focuses only on football. That’s a huge advantage for him. He’s an adult with everything and he’s incredibly intelligent.”
Last week, Slavia president Jaroslav Tvrdík revealed he’d received €10m bid for the prolific forward. However, Tvrdík refused to reveal the details because he has no plans to cash in from Sima’s sale in January.
Chrysostome, who refused to discuss the player’s valuation, admitted Sima is happy with his current employer.
“It’s hard to say what his current value is. I probably wouldn’t want to comment on that. But it’s not easy to find a quality striker on the market today,” Chrysostome added.
“It is too early to know what will happen tomorrow. At the moment we are happy with Slavia and Sima is happy with them.”
Chrysostome’s comments and Tvrdík’s stance suggest it would be difficult for either Arsenal or Juve to take Sima away from Slavia in the upcoming window.
