El Confidencial’s main sport article today is about Keylor Navas and the goalkeeper’s unwillingness to leave Real Madrid.

Liverpool play a major part in the claims, and it’s stated Jurgen Klopp has long held an ‘obsession’ to sign the Costa Rican.

The Liverpool manager is said to have shown his interest on ‘several’ occasions, but Navas has made it clear to Florentino Perez, Real Madrid’s president, that he intends to see out his contract with the club.

That contract lasts until June 2020, and there’s every chance Madrid will get around to signing a new goalkeeper before that.

Real Madrid have already tried to replace Navas with David De Gea, and during the last window they came very close to signing Kepa from Athletic Club Bilbao.

Further attempts to sign a new goalkeeper are expected, with De Gea and Thibaut Courtois named as targets, but Navas won’t budge.

Sevilla are said to be interested, and they and Liverpool are closely monitoring the situation.
