Patrick Dorgu will earn €2m per year at Manchester United, with that set to increase to €3m in the final year of his deal.

That’s according to Solo Lecce, who called Dorgu the ‘King of England’ and provide the details of his contract as the move to Manchester United edges closer.

Reports today have stated that Dorgu is now on the verge of being Manchester United’s first signing this month after they finally struck a deal with Lecce for him. United are set to pay €35m plus €5m in bonuses for him.

He will sign a five-year deal with Manchester United according to Solo Lecce, who say his starting salary at Old Trafford will be worth €2m a year, a figure likely to be after tax.

From next season it will be €2m a year for him and then €3m a year in the final year of his contract.

The website argues that it’s this ‘monstrous’ offer from Manchester United which has convinced the player’s entourage to put pressure on Lecce to get to the next stage of negotiations with their counterparts from England.

It appears that has worked, and the transfer is now expected to be finalised, with Dorgu increasingly closer to being a new Manchester United player.

As mentioned above, SoloLecce don’t make it clear whether these figures are before or after tax, but football wages are normally quoted after tax in the Italian media.
