Claims of Kiko Casilla moving to Leeds United this month started in the Yorkshire media before then being picked up in Spain.

On Saturday, Marca reported the player was a step away from joining the Championship club. A deal would be either on a free transfer basis, despite the goalkeeper having a contract until June 2020, or for a nominal fee.

Then the same Spanish newspaper reported talks were ‘very advanced’ and Casilla himself had given approval for a move to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

On Tuesday monring, Marca report the footballer isn’t in Real Madrid training, and they present their article with a tweet saying a move could be ‘imminent’.

It’s explained in the article that Casilla hasn’t trained ahead of the Leganes match, a game he was expected to start on the bench due to Thibaut Courtois’ injury. Instead it’s now expected that Luca Zidane will provide back-up for Keylor Navas.

Marca simply say the 32 year old could be leaving, although there’s no mention of Leeds United specifically.

The lack of a mention may not mean much, if anything, and there’s likely to be further updates.
