Timothée Kolodziejczak has been at Sevilla for two seasons, since making the move from Nice in 2014. Another smart Sevilla buy at just €3m, he’s already attracting attention and approaches from other clubs.

One of those clubs, according to a claim from Seville newspaper Estadio Deportivo, is Premier League side Middlesbrough. Aitor Karanka has been casting an eye toward Spain and using his knowledge, contacts and reputation to help Middlesbrough attract players.

Estadio Deportivo say Karanka has taken the step of speaking to Kolodziejczak personally, and tried to convince him that Middlesbrough would be a great move. Unfortunately, the newspaper say the defender, who they call simply Kolo, rejected the approach.

Kolo has become a major player for Sevilla and as much as Middlesbrough and the Premier League is attractive, living in the south of Spain and playing Champions League football may just beat it.
