It’s been claimed Partizan Belgrade defender Nikola Milenkovic will be joining Juventus in the summer transfer window. The youngster was tipped to replace Anderlecht star Kara Mbodj after Leicester City’s attempts to land the Senegal international.

During the last window Voetbal Nieuws reported on Anderlecht’s attempts to sign Milenkovic as a possible replacement for Mbodji. The Belgian club made a €4m bid for the 19-year-old, but this was rejected. It was expected Anderlecht would go back in for the Serbian in the next window, but it now seems like he will be heading to Serie A.

Milenkovic’s Partizan Belgrade teammate Valeri Bozhinov has confirmed to the Italian media the young defender will be heading to Juventus, and an official announcement is likely in June.

“Only the official announcement is missing. I think a deal will be completed in June,” said Bozihinov.

Leicester City have had two offers rejected by Anderlecht for Mbodji, with the last bid being in the region of €10m. The Belgian club were holding out for €15m.

Mbodj has been promised a move in the summer to the Premier League, and it’s still likely Leicester City will make another attempt to sign the player, but now Anderlecht will need to look other options to replace him.
