Considering his performance against Iceland on Sunday night, it would have been rude for the Italian media to not have an article about Paul Pogba’s future.

Thankfully, Gazzetta dello Sport are polite enough to hand us one, and the story is pretty much where we left it last, except Real Madrid seem to have strengthened their grasp on a possible transfer.

Juventus’ stance remains the same in that Paul Pogba is currently not for sale, meaning it would take a ludicrous offer to convince them of letting him go.

That is, unsurprisingly, what Manchester United could offer the Serie A champions, with a bid of £100m just about enough to force Beppe Marotta’s hand in the matter.

Of course, the next step would be to agree personal terms with the player, who still has a long time left on his current contract with Juventus, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem considering United’s current financial situation and willingness to hand out big wages.

Where do Real Madrid stand in all of this? Well, as discussed by Mino Raiola recently, discussions are said to have taken place, and a ‘diplomatic corridor’ is open between the two clubs, especially since the repurchase of Alvaro Morata.

Gazzetta even go as far as saying that with such big clubs after Pogba and their willingness to spend big on the Frenchman, Juventus’ position on the matter could ‘falter’.

A lot depends on Paul Pogba, but, considering his father’s recent comments that his son ‘wants to play in a better league’, that might not be an issue.
