As we covered earlier, not a great deal has happened in the Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United saga over the past couple of days or so.

Sure, there’s been repeat insistence that the Lecce player wants the move to Old Trafford. And there’s been a report about his family travelling to be with him. Yet, despite the expectation of a new offer and a big jump forward… that hasn’t actually happened yet.

Gazzetta dello Sport now throw in some added drama to try and wake everyone up. Prior to the Manchester United claims, multiple other clubs had been credited with interest in the Lecce player, including the biggest sides in Serie A.

Now, Juventus are said to be back on the prowl but are doing so on the quiet.

Gazzetta report Juventus are moving ‘under the radar’ for Dorgu. There’s apparently been movement in recent hours, and they see Dorgu as someone they could spend their money on should Manchester City spend big on Andrea Cambiaso in the coming days.

Juventus are ‘lurking’ and ‘could forcefully enter the scene with a change of strategy on the objectives’. The latter bit relates to Juve not being convinced about which central defender to go for so then browsing around and having their attention caught by Dorgu.

Is all of this an attempt to push Manchester United into actually making that expected-but-seemingly-lost improved offer? Maybe, but then similar was tried with Napoli last week and it didn’t magic more beans out of Old Trafford.
