Liverpool are ‘carefully observing’ the situation around Juventus defender Merih Demiral but could face competition from Manchester City.
That’s according to TuttoJuve, who say the Premier League duo are among the ‘main contenders’ for Demiral this summer.
They explain that the 23-year-old is experiencing a season ‘full of shadows’, with continuous injuries meaning he has not been able to play regularly and build up form.
Despite that, though, the young defender is ‘arousing great interest’ among the big European sides, and both Liverpool and Manchester City are among them.
Demiral is ‘liked’ by clubs in both leagues, but, as yet, no club have made ‘official offers’ to take the defender away from Italy.
Liverpool’s interest is nothing new, with them having been named as suitors in the past and claims in February that they even saw a bid rejected for the Turkish star on deadline day of the January transfer window.
Manchester City’s apparent interest is new and seems a little strange on the face of it, given they have Ruben Dias and John Stones shining this season and Nathan Ake in the background.
Whether either makes a move remains to be seen but what is clear is that Demiral is a name we’ll be seeing a lot more of in the coming months.
