Alvaro Morata has a very busy Wednesday.
On a trip to Milan he just so happened to be photographed with a Juventus official, along with the player’s agent, and there were reports of transfer talks being held over lunch in a restaurant.
That is enough to underline there’s something in rumours of Morata leaving Chelsea and returning to Juventus.
The striker’s wife is Italian, he loves the country, and he never really appeared ultra keen to leave Turin to return to Madrid. It would be no surprise if he’d jump at the chance of signing for Juve again.
Morata claims are therefore everywhere in Italy today. Everything which can be claimed is being claimed and there’s some excitement over a potential return to Serie A, where the player was much liked and highly rated.
Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has been speaking to TMW and was asked about the Chelsea player, along with Perin and Darmian: “Now we are in the most important phase of the transfer market and every day many players are linked to us, for example Morata, and we are pleased that those who have left keep a great memory of Juventus and it manifests that they want to savour the juventino environment again. However, beyond that, they are simply rumours and I want to deny because we have a great attacking department.”
Marotta was knocking back all questions about players leaving and arriving, very much sitting on the fence and not giving too much away, despite saying a lot of words.
