It’s safe to say Pierre-Michel Lasogga to Leeds United is more than just transfer window nonsense.

Thursday saw claims in Germany, followed by claims in Yorkshire, followed by claims in Germany again, that Lasogga to Leeds could happen.

A little digging shows Hamburger Abendblatt were first with the claims. The German newspaper stated Leeds have ‘expressed interest’ in Hamburg forward Lasogga.

Hamburg didn’t want to comment on Leeds United’s request for the player, but Hamburger Abendblatt say it’s ‘more than just talking’ going on.

Despite not playing a big role for Hamburg last season, Lasogga’s goal against Schalke helped save the club from relegation. The 25 year old has been linked with moves to England several times, previously to the Premier League.

Newcastle United are the English club most linked to Lasogga, and were again picked out in Germany after securing their promotion from the Championship.

Leeds United have already recruited Felix Wiedwald from the Bundesliga this summer, but Lasogga could be a riskier prospect.

A loan move is the most likely outcome, should Lasogga to Leeds actually happen, and all of this is likely to rest on the will of the player, who won’t be persuaded either way once he’s made up his mind.
