Alfredo Morelos has spoken about Steven Gerrard more than once during the current international break, and the same can be said for his Rangers teammates out with their national teams.
It’s a given that the club’s players will be asked about their famous manager by the media, but the praise they’ve been sharing has seemed genuine and enthusiastic. There’s clearly a lot of happiness and optimism at the Ibrox club right now.
Earlier this week, the Colombian striker explained: “I’m happy with a coach who is giving me the opportunity to play. I am growing a lot as a player and a person, it is motivating because he’s given me a lot of confidence and is very aware of me.”
Rangers have helped Morelos get international recognition and he’s itching to repay the faith shown in him by the national set-up.
Colombia’s FutbolRed quote the 22 year old as saying: “I feel very happy, I hope to do everything in the best way, just like it is at Rangers. Now I have to enjoy this time with the national team, with the scoring aim, to take advantage of my opportunity to make the goals I hope for.”
Morelos has a chance to stake his claim for a long term place in Colombia’s squad, with the country going through a big period of change after the exit of long term manager Jose Pekerman.
