The Hugo Lloris and Mauricio Pochettino love affair continues, much to the pleasure of the French media.
It seems a long time ago but much of the French media went way over the top with their hissy fits when Lloris first joined Tottenham and wasn’t immediately placed into the team.
Required to settle in and prove he’d done so, French newspapers and pundits spat fury at Andre Villas Boas, having not been pleased with the Tottenham transfer in the first place.
Soon there was talk of a quick transfer and whilst things calmed down, for some time afterwards any half baked Lloris transfer rumour was grasped in France… would he be joining Manchester United and escaping his Tottenham mistake?!
In more recent times that’s all disappeared, it’s accepted Lloris is very happy where he is, the goalkeeper repeatedly says so and more often than not references Pochettino.
In his latest comments, Lloris is quoted by L’Equipe explaining he believed in Pochettino from the start, and then it was obvious he wouldn’t be going anywhere: “I don’t need (these results) to say that yes, I arrived right at just the right time. It was just my feeling when I met him.”
So long as Pochettino stays at Spurs, it looks like they’ve got Lloris too.
