After reports from the Portuguese press this morning, it’s now the Italian media who confirms that Cedric Soares may be on his way out of Southampton.
Website Tutto Mercato Web claims that Inter Milan are close to signing the right-back, and could close the deal on Friday.
It’s said Cedric Soares would arrive at the Italian side on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the Nerazurri paying just €1m for that. Then the agreement would include the option of a permanent transfer.
That’s all Tutto Mercato Web seem to know by now, and it’s worth recalling that Portuguese newspaper A Bola said the player was moving on a €20m deal.
The Lisbon outlet wrote that Cedric Soares has strong ties with Southampton, but is now leaving the club due to the lack of game time he’s been having under manager Ralph Hasenhüttl.
Signed from Sporting on a €7m deal in 2015, Cedric Soares has made 119 appearances for the Saints so far.
