Timo Werner’s second half goal helped RB Leipzig register a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League tie on Wednesday.
The forward has been on Liverpool’s radar and after the latest European clash, he admitted he’s ‘very proud’ with the recent reports liking him to the Reds.
With the Germany international flirting with the Merseyside club, Bild have come up with an update.
It’s claimed Jürgen Klopp ‘wants’ his compatriot at Anfield and the Champions League winners also agree with their manager’s position on the 23-year-old.
The report adds there are many other clubs looking to land the attacker in the summer, but the option to join Liverpool seems to ‘appeal the most’ for Werner.
Werner’s contract with Leipzig runs down in 2023, and he has a clause that will allow him to leave the Bundesliga side for €55-60m in the summer.
Bild are not sure if the player wants to leave Leipzig after this season, but suggests his display against Spurs was an ‘extremely strong’ audition.
