Swedish journalist Mårthen Bergman believes Pawel Cibicki wasn’t playing to his capabilities for Malmo before his move to Leeds United this summer.

The 23 year old signed for Leeds United just before the deadline day, and he was among a number players to arrive at Elland Road in the summer.

Speaking to Fotbol Direkt, Bergman was asked which players didn’t meet his expectations during Malmo’s title success, and he highlighted the Leeds United player: “Pawel Cibicki had much more to give before he got a deal with Leeds and overall I have to say there are many I had expected more of this season.”

Cibicki played his part in Malmo’s league success after the Swedish side wrapped up their 20th title earlier this week. The Sweden U21 international was a regular for the Swedish champions, but he didn’t finish the season with his home town club after joining Leeds United.

The Swede has made a slow start to his Leeds United career, and his only start for the Championship side came in the EFL Cup win against Burnley.

However, Cibicki should expect to get more games as the campaign unfolds, with Leeds United still fighting on three fronts.
