Porto fullback Alex Telles is completely ignored by Portuguese newspapers on Friday, as there’s not a single mention of his potential transfer to Manchester United.
The Red Devils’ chase for the 27-year-old looks as cold as ever, and the reason for it was explained by TVI24 journalist Rui Pedro Braz last night.
He says it’s true that Manchester United made an official offer for Telles, but that’s still far from enough to convince Porto.
Braz comments that people in Portugal were first talking about a bid of €25m, then brought it down to €20m, and the media this week said it would be only €15m. However, the Red Devils are actually offering an amount which doesn’t surpass €10m.
The journalist brings a list of arguments why Alex Telles is worth more than that, even though his contract expires next summer.
Then he says it would be a ‘crime’ for Porto to accept an offer like this. It’s claimed that in case the bid isn’t improved, then the Dragons should keep Telles and do their best to renew his contract during the season, although the player doesn’t seem very interested.
