Charly Alcaraz’s two appearances for Everton so far will not count towards the six appearances that will make his move a permanent one.

That’s according to journalist Venê Casagrande, who provides clarification on the clause included in the midfielder’s loan deal from Flamengo.

Alcaraz joined the Toffees on loan at the end of the January transfer window, but the loan includes an obligation for Everton to make it permanent in the summer for £15m plus £3m in add-ons.

That will only be activated once he has made six starts for Everton between now and the end of the season.

Casagrande wants to make that clear in his latest post, explaining that after being asked on X and other social networks that Alcaraz’s two appearances so far do not count towards that total of six. Only games in which he is a starter count in the agreement with Flamengo.

It now remains to be seen if he hits that number as a starter before the end of the season, although with injuries hitting, it seems likely.

Indeed, he could be set for his first start this weekend with Abdoulaye Doucoure suspended for the weekend trip to Crystal Palace.

Either way, that would be one out of six, with his current two appearances not yet counting as far as the loan deal is concerned.
