Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to Estádio da Madeira on Saturday.
According to O Jogo and A Bola, the club have sent emissaries to watch the Portuguese league tie between Nacional and Benfica.
Monaco have sent officials too, and both papers say the French side were watching the Benfica winger Salvio. However, they can’t identify who Manchester United’s target was.
O Jogo says it’s the third time in a row that José Mourinho have sent scouts to watch Benfica, unusual for this period of the season.
United have been recently linked to two Benfica players: Victor Lindelof and Gonçalo Guedes.
But the interest in the Swedish defender seems to have gone cold for a while. Lindelof’s recent quotes suggested he’s staying at Benfica too, and his name hasn’t been a subject of transfer rumours since then.
Guedes is considered to be a gem at the club, despite reports that Benfica would accept to do business for him. The youngster played for only a few minutes yesterday, as he came on to replace Jonas at 89′.
