Spanish newspaper Marca are preparing for a domino effect of transfers. In their Friday edition, Marca report that Jose Mourinho isn’t entirely convinced on Antoine Griezmann, but Manchester United are keen to buy him at club level so he’ll have to lump it.
Atletico Madrid getting the €100m in Griezmann’s clause would then shake up the entire summer market, and Marca believe it would have a big impact on Chelsea and Antonio Conte.
The first thing Atletico would ‘definitely’ do with their money is go for Diego Costa, because of their wish to get him back and the player’s ‘desire to leave’ Chelsea.
That would then leave Chelsea looking for a replacement, and Marca reckon the man would be Alvaro Morata, which would surprise nobody given the player himself has confirmed Chelsea made a huge attempt to sign him last summer.
The two predicted Chelsea transfers, Costa out and Morata in, would then lead Real Madrid into the market for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which would see Karim Benzema go, perhaps to Arsenal, and free up Alexis Sanchez.
It’s only February 3rd.
