David De Gea to Real Madrid won’t die, but it does seem a little ill at the moment.
El Confidencial report that Real Madrid are still keen on De Gea, but they’re certainly not desperate, and not in a panic to get a deal done.
Keylor Navas is liked by his manager and teammates, and it would be no disaster if he starts as Real Madrid’s goalkeeper next season.
This has all led to De Gea, who had again been half expecting a move, wondering what’s going on, report El Confidencial. The Manchester United goalkeeper doesn’t know if Madrid are really going to go through with a transfer or whether they’ll keep him hanging.
De Gea reportedly wanted to get everything sorted out so, over the next few weeks, he could move into the house he owns in Madrid. Jorge Mendes is said to have reassured De Gea over the situation, and the agent is working to reach a deal.
But the situation right now seems to be one of De Gea wanting to move to Real Madrid, and the club wanting him, but neither really wanting to be the first to make a big effort.
Should that continue, a Manchester United stay has to be considered likely.
