Barcelona’s poor end to the La Liga season sees Ronald Koeman’s future under some doubt. The Dutchman had managed to work his side into a genuine battle for the La Liga title, but that prospect has now fallen after the draw with Levante and defeat to Celta Vigo.
That’s seen reports build about Barcelona president Joan Laporta considering replacing Koeman this summer. Sport cover the situation, and it’s once again stated that the president sees Xavi Hernandez as the man he wants to take over, however, it’s all a matter of timing.
Laporta feels Koeman is ‘another president’s manager’, yet despite that he’s not entirely convinced that he should fire him right now, with the possibility of another season before Xavi then comes in to take what many feel is his rightful place.
