After being linked to a Premier League move for over ten years, perhaps Guillermo Ochoa will soon have a new chance to play in England.

Mexican outlet Record reports today that the goalkeeper could be joining Watford as a request from manager Javi Gracia this summer, who has already ‘contacted him’ to ‘invite’ him to the project.

Since Ochoa’s contract with Standard Liege expires in the summer, he could sign for the Hornets as a free agent in a month.

The goalkeeper has already worked with Javi Gracia at Malaga, and although this could be seen as a reason for their reunion, Record points out that their past could actually be a bad thing.

That’s because Ochoa was benched at the Spanish side behind Carlos Kameni, and since he would be brought to Watford to compete for a place with Ben Foster, this isn’t his preferred option, wanting to play regularly.

Despite leaving on a free, Ochoa was mostly a starter in Belgium this season, having made 48 appearances, conceding 65 goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.
