ADO Den Haag defender Tom Beugelsdijk will now see out the season with the Dutch side despite being linked with a move to Leeds United during the last week of the transfer window. The Championship side were keen to bring in the 26-year-old, and faced competition from Serie A for the player.
Haagsetop Sport have confirmed Beugelsdijk will not be moving in the New Year when the transfer window opens again. Since his return to ADO Den Haag last summer the defender has become a vital member of the team, and has become something of a cult hero with the club’s fans.
Beugelsdijk gave hints last weekend he would see out the season with the Eredivise side, and revealed he’d turn down a move to Leeds United. His club teammate Mike Havenaar will also see out the season after he was linked with a move to the Premier League.
Garry Monk recently sent scouts to Holland to watch Beugelsdijk, and the reports which came back were positive. However, if Leeds United are to go back in for the Dutchman they could face competition from Pescara and Sampdoria.
