The Italian pursuit for Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian continues, according to local reports.

Premium Sport (via Calcio Mercato) are claimed on Tuesday that Juventus and Inter Milan are both keen on signing the player in January.

The outlet says that Inter would try to convince Darmian to join them by offering him a leading role in the squad, but Juventus’ high status doesn’t leave the Old Lady behind in the race.

Matteo Darmian signed for Manchester United from Torino in 2015 for €18m. He made 39 appearances in his debut season under Louis van Gaal, being used both as a right-back as a left-back.

But José Mourinho clearly sees Antonio Valencia as his preferred option and Darmian has been struggling for minutes. The 26-year-old has only one appearance this season, playing the full 90 minutes against Feyenoord in the Europa League.
