On Sunday, we rounded up the latest from Italy on Leeds United’s efforts to sign Jaka Bijol from Udinese.

That came after claims on Saturday that the defender had reached a broad agreement to sign for the newly promoted Premier League side, as long as they reached an agreement with his club.

Leeds United were said to have offered €15m before raising that to €18m, and Udinese were still thought to be holding out for €25m… but some earlier reports stated they could accept a lot less.

Reading between the lines, something around €20m could be the magic number.

SportMediaSet’s Orazio Accomando now reports the player’s entourage are set to fly to England to seal the deal. That will be on personal terms, and agreement is thought to be close.

When it comes to matters between Leeds United, Udinese and the transfer fee, it’s stated the Yorkshire club want to finalise that agreement over the next 24 hours.

This transfer feels like it needs a little effort from all involved to get over the line quickly.

Bijol got married on Saturday, as reported by Siol and others in Slovenia, which is perhaps a big reason for things dragging out in recent days.
