Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has revealed he doesn’t think about his actions whilst on the touchline.
The German coach last season clashed with former Leeds United manager Garry Monk, after celebrating his side’s win over the Elland Road club.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, Wagner was asked about the events during the game with Leeds United season, and whether he goes out to provoke other teams: “I’ve never played a role, I don’t think about what I’m doing on the touchline. It happens sometimes – fortunately only on the touchline because it’s costing me money.”
“I don’t do it to make an impact on players, I do it because that’s how I am.”
Under Wagner, Huddersfield Town gained promotion to the Premier League last season via the playoffs, and were pushed all the way by Leeds United.
Both West Yorkshire sides occupied the top six places for most of the campaign, but Leeds United’s poor results towards the end of the season cost them a place in the playoffs.
Huddersfield Town got the better over Leeds United by winning both games last season, including the Terriers 2-1 victory when Wagner clashed with Monk.
