Vasco de Gama striker Pablo Vegetti has jokingly warned Philippe Coutinho he’ll kill him if he doesn’t sign on a permanent basis from Aston Villa this summer.
GE Globo cover comments from the 36-year-old today in which he admits he’s desperate to see Coutinho join from Aston Villa permanently.
The midfielder is currently on loan from Aston Villa, who sent him to the Brazilian club in the summer transfer window as he was not a part of Unai Emery’s plans.
He’s been loving life at the club since and they’re desperate to keep him on a permanent basis. There is now agreement to do so in the current loan deal, though.
Instead, the various parties have been negotiating for weeks to make a deal happen before Coutinho’s loan deal expires at the end of the month. The Aston Villa man has admitted today that he believes there will be progress on the matter this week.
He may now want to ensure those negotiations are sped up, with his current teammate joking that he’ll go to extreme lengths if the deal isn’t done.
“If he doesn’t renew, I’ll kill him (laughs),” he said after the 3-1 victory against São Paulo.
He’s been playing really well, today he had a different game. He loves Vasco and I believe he wants to stay. I’ve already threatened him.”
