Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Manchester United yesterday helped them climb up to 12th in the Premier League table.
Lucas Bergvall started and starred in the game, also playing a part in James Maddison’s first half goal.
The midfielder has grown in stature at Tottenham this season and some praise for the teenager has now arrived from compatriot Dejan Kulusevski.
The 24-year-old spoke to SportBladet about the teenager and said: “It’s fun that he plays so close to me, that we have a Swedish right-back.”
Kulusevski also expressed gratitude to Tottenham for giving players some days off before the big game at the weekend.
He said: “You want to be superman, but you have to be realistic. I really needed those days with my family, to have a life outside of football.”
The Sweden international also spoke about Tottenham’s difficulties over the last month, as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
“It was really tough, but you can’t let your emotions take over. When you know you’ve given it your all, you just have to move on.”
Kulusevski has arguably been Tottenham’s best player this season, scoring nine times and racking up ten assists for the London giants.
He’s already played close to 3000 minutes this season and it shows one of his biggest strengths is his availability, especially when the side has been going through an injury crisis.
The fact he had time off could prove to be vital for Spurs, who can potentially count on a re-energised Kulusevski for the next few weeks.
