Everton have been handed a clearer route to the signing of Sporting Club de Portugal winger Geny Catamo, with the mess around percentage rights involving him set to be sorted out.
That’s according to Record, who report that Everton’s interest in the 24-year-old has led to Sporting looking to sort the situation out.
They state that negotiations are currently on going between Sporting and Amora regarding the percentage situation. Currently Sporting only own 25% of the player, with the rest in the hands of the Medideira club.
There is a desire from both clubs to work something out, with a transfer on the cards for the winger. Everton are just one of the clubs to be linked, and the newspaper states the likes of Fulham, Aston Villa, Roma and Udinese are also keen.
The priority is to reach an agreement about the player, ensuring everyone comes out from a possible transfer happy.
It could be a situation which runs until the end of the window, with Everton’s interest potentially causing delays anyway, at least according to Amora’s president José María Gallego Moyano.
“We are much closer now than we were a year ago, but I believe it will still take a few more days; it is also possible that everything will only be concluded close to the end of the market,” he said.
“We know that it is normal at this stage, but this kind of news always ends up affecting negotiations and could even delay the agreement with Sporting for a few more weeks.
“It is something that is not in the interests of Amora or Sporting, especially because, at this moment, their biggest concern is Gyökeres.”
