According to claims in the Italian media, West Bromwich Albion are set to make Ahmed Hegazy’s move to the Hawthorns permanent.

The defender joined West Brom on loan in the last window from Al Ahly.

Sky Italia have reported via TMW West Brom are ready to redeem Hegazy, and that the Premier League side are ready to play €6m for the former Fiorentina player.

The Baggies had a right of redemption on the Egyptian international as part of the deal which brought the 26 year old to England last summer, and it now seems West Brom will activate this.

Hegazy has been a regular starter since his arrival at West Brom last summer, but more importantly he’s been one of the first choice centre backs under recently installed manager Alan Pardew.

The Egyptian has formed a solid partnership with Jonny Evans in recent weeks, which has seen West Brom record cleans sheets in the last three games, including the mid week away trip to Liverpool
