As tends to be the case every summer since they returned to the Premier League, Watford are reshuffling their team for the upcoming season, and aren’t done yet.
The latest name to be associated with the Hornets is Saphir Taider, who once spent 25 days on loan at Southampton.
The Algeria international managed to relaunch his career in Italy somewhat with a two-year loan at Bologna before they bought him earlier this summer for £3.6m, and is now being targeted by a handful of Premier League sides, including the aforementioned Watford, but also West Ham.
Slaven Bilic’s club have, once again, left things a bit late during the transfer window, even if they finally signed a striker who looks capable of scoring more than two goals a season in Javier Hernandez.
The additions of Marko Arnautovic and Joe Hart will further help the Hammers in the upcoming campaign, but the midfield is still an area they haven’t bolstered.
And that’s why, according to Nicolo Schira in Italy, a journalist for Gazzetta dello Sport, both West Ham and Watford are currently in talks to try and sign the 25-year-old midfielder.

It’s worth pointing out the Hornets’ interest in Taider dates all the way back to June, when Corriere dello Sport claimed he was on Marco Silva’s list this summer.
Perhaps he was some way down the pecking order, and with other targets now gone, it’s his turn?
We’ll have to wait and see.
