On Wednesday, we covered claims from Italy that Leeds United are on the verge of signing young goalkeeper Elia Caprile, with the 18 year old expected to join the U23 group.
It wasn’t the only Leeds claim in the Italian media, with a mysterious one coming from Il Secolo XIX. They reported another Serie B side, Spezia Calcio, had been offered a young striker from the Championship club.
That player went unnamed.
Since then, again from Il Secolo XIX, but this time via Pianeta Serie B, it’s been revealed the footballer is Tyler Roberts.
Today’s report makes it sound very much like it’s Spezia doing the chasing, rather than anyone else doing the offering. They’re said to have been in contact with the 20 year old’s agents, but Leeds are presented as being against a sale right now.
Roberts is represented by Sturridge Sports Management, and has a contract at Elland Road until June 2022.
It wouldn’t be a Leeds United transfer window without strange claims from Italy.
