According to claims in the Italian media, Reading manager is considering resigning from his role at the Championship side.
The former AC Milan defender guided Reading to the play off finals last season, but they’ve struggled in this campaign.
TMW have today reported, in what they claim to be an exclusive, that Stam could step down as Reading boss after only arriving at the club last summer.
The Dutchman has admitted he could be dismissed following Reading’s poor run of results, and his situation hasn’t been helped by this weekend’s defeat to Middlesbrough.
The Italian sport outlet says there should be developments tomorrow with regards to Stam’s future at Reading, with a chance he’ll be saying his goodbyes to the club.
Despite nearly getting promotion via the playoffs in May, Reading currently lie 20th in the Championship table, just two points above the relegation zone. Stam’s side have won just 3 games from the opening 13 league games of the season, and now look to be in a fight to avoid the drop.
