Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho preferred winger-turned full-back Ashley Young in the left-back position ahead of Luke Shaw last season.

The former Aston Villa man will turn 33 years of age on July 9th and the Red Devils are in the market for a new left-back, according to claims from Italy.

Earlier this week, Duncan Castles said the 20-time English champions have agreed terms for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro. The Brazil international has two years left on his contract with the Serie A winners.

According to Il Bianconero, there is no agreement between United and the Turin club for Sandro. However, he has been on the radar of the Premier League outfit and Paris Saint-Germain.

So far, the 27-year-old has not been approached any clubs outside Italy. Il Bianconero also claims the Italian champions have not contacted Sandro’s agent to extend his deal.

Juventus have stopped contract talks with the South American’s representative ‘over a year ago’. The report doesn’t rule out Juventus receiving offers for the fullback in the coming weeks, and they add ‘for now, Mourinho looks but does not touch’.
