Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport features a story today about the players who could be leaving and joining Inter Milan this summer.
Two Manchester United players make it to the list of possible incomes: Matteo Darmian and Romelu Lukaku. Both have been linked to the club for a while, and it should be no surprise to see the Nerazzurri trying to get them.
Regarding the right-back, Corriere doesn’t have a lot to say. They claim that Darmian has been followed for quite a while, but don’t bring many details on how negotiations are going.
It’s worth recalling that lately, the Italian press has been saying Inter Milan want to pay very little for the former Torino player, so perhaps that’s the reason why things aren’t advancing quickly.
Regarding Lukaku, Corriere says the situation is a bit more complicated, even though he’s told his staff he would like to play in Italy.
Inter Milan would struggle to afford such a signing. First because of Lukaku’s wages, then because an agreement with Manchester United wouldn’t be easy.
Corriere claims that the best scenario for Inter would be a swap with Mauro Icardi, but the Red Devils have other priorities for the position, such as Pedro, Robert Lewandowski and Paolo Dybala. However, the Nerazzurri would still have the option of offering Ivan Perisic in the deal, so this possibility isn’t ruled out.
