In the past week we’ve reported on the Swedish media’s praise of Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson. The 24-year-old is currently on loan with the Championship side from Torino, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed in Italy

Toro.it have reported on players Torino have loaned out this season, and one of the standout loanees is Jansson. Describing him as leader in their headline, they believe the Swede has become the reference point for Leeds United’s defence.

They say Jansson hasn’t disappointed since joining Leeds United in the summer, and is doing well now he’s got over his injuries.

“While Leeds in the Championship wins once more, beating Ipswich 1-0. Jansson is always there, the reference point in the back four, and still does not disappoint. Sure, he is doing very well, after a season punctuated by injuries.,” said the Torino website.

Jansson has been a key factor in Leeds United’s recent run of good results, which has seen them propel up the Championship table. The Sweden international has recently spoken about his joy playing for the club, a move which should become permanent if he plays 20 games this season.

Torino may well be regretting that clause already, and Jansson praise is spreading around Europe.
