A couple of days ago, we reported Juventus scouts were expected to attend the match between Everton and Southampton to take a closer look at Belgian star Romelu Lukaku.

On Tuesday, TuttoSport in Italy confirm Juventus scouts attended the game, and they believe Juventus retain serious interest in signing the Everton star.

Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic is expected to leave the club next summer, and Juventus are already looking for a replacement.

TuttoSport say everything is at stake next summer, and we’ll know then if Juventus are ambitious enough about signing Lukaku, who is expected to leave for a huge transfer fee.

It’s been reported Juventus have ‘fallen in love’ with Lukaku, and are looking to open the ‘channel’ with his agent Mino Raiola. That probably means the Serie A giants are hoping to begin negotiations soon.

Lukaku has a contract until 2019 at Everton, and interest from clubs like Juventus will only make it more difficult for the Merseyside club to renew his contract.

As we’ve pointed out previously, Juventus’ main striker is Gonzalo Higuain, and he’s supported on the pitch by Paulo Dybala. Lukaku would not be the main man, and perhaps the Belgian would prefer, that if he leaves Ronald Koeman’s Everton he does so to be a club’s star striker.
