Still looking for that ever elusive striker signing, it seems Arsenal are getting frustrated at missing out on some of their alleged targets, or at least that’s what the media would have you believe.
After Gonzalo Higuain decided to move to Juventus, the focus was on Mauro Icardi, who suddenly became a target for Napoli, and Arsenal seemed to fade into the background like Homer Simpson into a hedge.
However, Corriere dello Sport on Tuesday seem to think Wenger hasn’t given up on the Argentinean striker.
The Italian newspaper jump to this conclusion after news that Ulisse Savini, an agent for Top Eleven Management, who also happens to be a ‘collaborator’ of Wanda Nara, Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent, was in London.
They also say Arsenal are still following Icardi with ‘great attention’.
With Napoli signing Arkadiusz Milik from Ajax Amsterdam, you’d expect their interest in Icardi to be over now, leaving Arsenal with a free run at the striker if they really want him.
Problem is, Inter Milan don’t want to sell.
This isn’t over yet, at least in Italian press’ eyes.
