The departure of Antonio Candreva from Lazio (who should be announced as an Inter Milan player fairly soon) has caused the Serie A club to panic a bit to find a replacement.
Their alleged number one target Florian Thauvin seems to prefer a return to his former club Marseille, with the winger pushing for Newcastle and the Ligue 1 side to get a deal done, so Lazio have turned to the Premier League.
With the Rome club looking for a player capable of doing the same job as the departing Italian, Il Tempo seem to think that Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, once of Manchester United ‘fame’, would be an appropriate replacement.
The Italian newspaper seem to think the pacy winger is part of a three-man wishlist, also including Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj, who seems to be on the fringes at Old Trafford.
All this talk of Zaha leaving comes a couple of days after his assistant manager Keith Millen stated the player ‘was more than happy’ at his current club.
Wilfried Zaha made 43 appearances for Palace last season, scoring five goals and picking up seven assists for his side as he helped them reach the FA Cup final.
