One of the biggest mysteries ahead of Sassuolo’s next transfer window has been regarding the future of Jeremie Boga.
The player has been showing great potential at the Italian side, and therefore was linked to several European clubs in the past few months.
Sassuolo’s problem has been that Chelsea, who sold Boga to them in 2018, have kept a clause to buy him back for a set amount, and that could stop the Serie A side from making a bigger profit with the sale.
However, it seems the Blues are giving up on their chance to bring the winger back.
Sassuolo’s sporting director Giovanni Rossei has spoken to Sky Italia today, and claimed that his club has found a deal so the Stamford Bridge side won’t go for Boga this summer.
“We fixed the situation with Chelsea by trying to find an agreement for Jeremie,” he said (via Tutto Mercato Web).
Rossi has also talked about the other clubs who’ve been after the 23-year-old, especially because Napoli have been heavily linked to the player.
“Napoli? Giuntoli has contacted us, but there are also other interests. Now let’s think about the league and the recovery.”
