Massimo Cellino is now long gone from Leeds United.
The club’s fans were happy to see the back of Cellino, and since Andrea Radrizzani took over at Elland Road there’s been a wave of optimism.
Radrizzani has overseen a group of signings which will be impressive if another couple are added before the end of the window. A real effort to get fans onside at Leeds United, and to work together, has seen Radrizzani quickly become popular and separate himself from Cellino.
This week the former Leeds United owner took a controlling stake in Brescia, after a process which dragged on for several months. Despite just taking over, Cellino is ‘more than operational’ at Brescia and is already working in the transfer market.
A list of targets has been named by Gazzetta dello Sport, and it includes a Leeds United player. Cellino wants Marcus Antonsson for Brescia, as well as Italy based players Andrea Pinamonti, Joel Untersee and Carlos Apna Embaló.
The list will have come from somewhere, and there’s likely some truth in it.
Gazzetta are hardly going to compile a random list of targets and include Leeds’ Antonsson.
Should the Cellino raid come then it may be welcome. Leeds United have been linked to several new strikers, and Antonsson himself could be looking for a club where he’d get more minutes.
