We’ve truly entered silly season now, with websites frantically trying to be first to everything.
A good example of this so far this month has been TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy, who have been posting ‘exclusives’ left, right and centre, yet some of them aren’t even theirs.
The latest is regarding an Arsenal interest in Juventus target Sead Kolasinac, with the Italian website reporting that ‘sources close to the British club confirm that the Gunners are trying to bring the Bosnian to London for the summer to come’.
The 23-year-old’s contract with Schalke 04 runs out in 2017, meaning he is currently free to speak to anyone regarding a deal for the summer, but Juventus are trying to get a deal done this month.
Schalke aren’t particularly keen on this, wanting to keep their left-back until the summer, and have made that very clear.
Even a move to Juventus at this moment in time looks unlikely.
Don’t get us wrong, the Arsenal interest on paper makes sense, with Nacho Monreal now on the wrong side of 30, and the Gunners negotiating now for next summer is a clever move.
We would just believe it more if it came from someone else.
