Set to be signing for Fiorentina in January, from Partizan Belgrade Dusan Vlahovic’s arrival is a rather exciting one for La Viola.

After all, Arsenal were said to be after the young Serbian last year, reported as tracking his development, but the Serie A side managed to pip them to him.

Still, that hasn’t stopped the Italian media to regurgitate Arsène Wenger’s interest in the 17-year-old, because, we can only assume, it makes Fiorentina look good.

Calciomercato published a very short article on their website, making it clear that Stefano Pioli’s side beat the Gunners to his signature, describing their achievement as ‘snatching him from wide competition’.

With three Serbia U19 caps to his name at 17 years of age, it’s safe to say the talent is there, but it remains to be seen how much of a coup this really is for the Italian side.

Over the past couple of years, the young striker has scored three goals and picked up one assist in 27 appearances (one start) for Partizan Belgrade.
