Genoa youngster Pietro Pellegri continues to be linked with a move to Manchester City, according to claims in the Italian media. The 16-year-old made his debut for the Serie A side last season after committing himself to the club earlier this year.

Calciomercato have reported Manchester City and AC Milan are still showing an interest in Pellegri, despite the forward signing a contract with Genoa in March.

Manchester City were linked with the Italy U17 international before he signed his first professional contract. The Premier League side had invited Pellegri and his agent to England for a tour of their training complex, and also to hold initial talks.

However, Genoa are keen to keep hold of Pellegri, with claims the player wants to remain with his hometown club. This is also an opinion shared by Pellegri’s family, now that he’s broken into Genoa’s first team.

The young forward has already scored for the Italian club in Serie A, and it seems they are unwilling to sell anytime soon.
