A couple of days ago we saw reports from the Italian media being optimistic that Fiorentina could sign Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea this summer.

It was claimed the Blues are only demanding €6m for his move, and with La Viola working on departures, it was said they were ‘close’ on getting a deal done.

However, there are new claims from Corriere Dello Sport, who say Inter Milan have Zappacosta as a target as well.

They write the Chelsea player continues to be on their wish list, but also points out he’d be a little more expensive than previously reported. According to the outlet, the Blues value him at €12m.

Websites dedicated to Fiorentina obviously take these claims as bad news. First because of Inter Milan’s competition, which would make a deal a lot harder, and then because of the price, with Chelsea demanding double than they expected.

Zappacosta had a positive loan spell at Genoa last season, and it seems that’s why Serie A clubs are now interested in him. However, it doesn’t sound likely they’d spend that much to bring him back to Italy.
