Diego León has been warned life at Manchester United won’t be easy, and adapting to life at Old Trafford won’t be a simple task.
ABC cover comments from manager Manolo Jiménez on the youngster today as the 17-year-old gears up to join Manchester United next year.
León has been in the focus of the news around Manchester United this week as they’ve stepped up to quickly secure the Paraguayan youngster from Cerro Porteño.
A deal has quickly been wrapped up and the youngster is expected to join Manchester United when he turns 18-years-old next summer in a deal that could be worth as much as $8m if various bonuses are achieved.
Not much is known about León at this moment in time, with the youngster still finding his feet in Paraguay and indeed the professional game at this moment in time.
Sport Witness have already sought to solve that problem, contacting journalist Diego Torres, who was the first to break the Manchester United transfer story, to provide the lowdown on the incoming transfer.
Another man who knows all about León is Jiménez, the manager who gave the youngster his debut Cerro Porteño. He was asked about him today and wanted to warn his protégé about the future ahead of him.
“It won’t be easy,” he told Cardinal Deportivo.
“The English climate, the language, the customs and the demands of a club like Manchester United. He will meet 22 like him, he will not be the reference.
“If you are able to listen, learn and gown, adaptation can be quick. But it won’t be easy, the beginnings will be difficult because of the language but I think Manchester United will know how to manager it. It will depend a lot on the player.”
