There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Ipswich Town are showing interest in Galatasaray defender Elias Jelert.
The Super Lig champions are looking to offload the right back following his struggles this season and the Premier League side could offer him an escape route.
Sabah today report on the latest developments regarding the future of Jelert after the youngster was also recently linked with Everton. It’s claimed Ipswich Town have ‘made an offer’ for the Denmark international, although there are no reports of the figure.
The Turkish media outlet says say Gala are looking to recoup the €9m they paid out for the Denmark international after they signed him from Copenhagen. There’s a clear suggestion Ipswich Town’s offer is less than that, because Sabah state: ‘If the red-yellows are willing to lose money on the Danish player they invested €9m in, this transfer will happen.’
The Premier League side have been busy in this window after signing Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa and also look on the verge of signing Brighton’s Julio Enciso.
Jelert has started just four league games since joining Galatasaray and is contracted to Cimbom until June 2029.
