According to claims in the German media, Hamburg investor Klaus-Michael Kuhne has instructed the club to sell Southampton target Filip Kostic in this transfer window.

The forward was yesterday linked with a move to the Premier League club, and we covered claims from the German media about the Saints link and that the player wants to leave.

Shz.de have reported on claims in the Hamburg media that Kuhne has told the German club they must sell Kostic so that he can be reimbursed on a €12m loan he gave them in 2016. This loan was to finance the purchase of the Serbian intentional from Stuttgart. Hamburg are hoping to get €14m for the Serbian.

Sweden international Albin Ekdal is another Hamburg player that could be offloaed, but it’s Kostic in particular who Kuhne is insistent on being sold. Hamburg hope to discuss this with Kuhne in the hope he may waiver the loan.
